Here's a brief rundown of the Perfection of the Born Again believer:
Hebrews 10 King James Version (KJV)
1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.
2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.
3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.
4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
The Writer makes the point that the sacrifices of the Law could not make the comer thereunto...perfect. That word, in the Greek, is teleioĊ, and is defined thus in Strong's, to carry through completely; to accomplish, finish, bring to an end. So if we maintain the context, we see that in regards to why the sacrifice is being offered it could not bring to an end the reason for that offering, which was...atonement and remission of sins. So we see that the context itself is remission of sins and atonement, and that because those sacrifices could not take away sin those under Law (and those who offered up vicarious animal sacrifice, beginning with Abel) committed and were guilty of, they were...incomplete in regards to remission of sins and atonement.
He contrasts that with the Sacrifice of Christ, and let's see what the Writer has to say about that:
10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:
12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.
14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
We are sanctified, set apart unto God...once (for all is an insertion of the Translators (v.10)). He makes his point clear in describing the service of the Priests and their sacrifices, once again making it clear they...could not take away sin. And the corollary is that they could not take away the penalty for sin, which is why those sacrifices were offered, because the wages of sin is...death.
But Christ, after He had offered up One Sacrifice, Himself, sat down never needing to again make provision for remission of sins, because He has made perfect, complete that is, those who have been sanctified, and this on an eternal basis...forever (v.14). Now the Judaizers the OP is apparently sitting at the feet of have never bothered to understand the context of this chapter or any other. If they had, they would not go around trying to bring men under the toke of the Law.
The One Sacrifice of Christ has made perfect, brought to an end, made complete those sanctified in regards to remission of sins and atonement.
We are perfect (complete) in Christ.
But we are still going to sin after salvation, because our walk with the Lord is an ongoing process of growth. There are those who are, as John puts it, little children, those who are young men, and those who are fathers. All of us start out as babes, and our hope is that our Progressive Sanctification goes as easily as our Positional Sanctification goes, seeing that it was given us as a Gift.
God bless.
